One of my favorite blogger is writing a book for Christian youth and young adults on minimalistic living!! Go Joshua from Becoming Minimalist!
I was there once, the teenage who had to have the newest gadgets and trying so hard to fit in highschool. But Jesus opened my eyes. He showed me way of minimalistic living and I’m forever grateful. And I’m so excited for this book. This book would make such a gift for that youth or young adult in your life.
This post was not written by me. But I LOVED it so I reblogged it.
As you look for direction in your college search, check out these powerful examples of prayers.
Father, I am seeking:
I am hesitant and uncertain,
but will you, O God,
watch over each step of mine
and guide me?
Speak, Lord, for your servant hears.
Grant us ears to hear,
Eyes to see,
Wills to obey,
Hearts to love;
Then declare what you will,
Reveal what you will,
Command what you will,
Demand what you will.
You are my God. Show me what you want me to do,
and let your gentle Spirit
lead me in the right path.
—King David (Psalm 143:10, CEV)
Show me your ways, O Lord,
teach me your paths;
guide me in your truth and teach me,
for you are God my Savior,
and my hope is in you all day long.
— King David (Psalm 25:4-5, NIV)
Father, you have promised to guide us when we are truly humble and dependent on you.
You have promised to give wisdom
generously to those who feel
their lack of it.
We come to you as your children
asking for a Father’s wise prompting
as we wonder what course to take.
Lead us in the right path, so that our lives may bring glory and honor to you.
Through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Steer the ship of my life, good Lord, to your quiet harbor. …
Show me the course I should take. Renew in me the gift of discernment, so that I can always see the right direction in which I should go.
And give me the strength and the courage to choose the right course, even when the sea is rough and the waves are high. …
—Basil of Caesarea
Almighty, eternal, just and merciful God, grant us the desire to do only what pleases you, and the strength to do only what you command.
Cleanse our souls, enlighten our minds, and inflame our hearts with your Holy Spirit, that we may follow in the footsteps of your beloved Son, Jesus Christ.
—Francis of Assisi
You alone know what is good for me; do therefore what seems best to you.
Give to me or take from me; I desire to adore equally all that comes to me from you, my Lord and God.
We seek a clear light to shine upon our troubled way.
We ask Thee to give us clearer directions.
Where we have missed the way and wandered far, bring us back at whatever cost to our pride.
Take away our stubborn self-will, for we know that in Thy will alone is our peace.
We seek that peace.
Your word is a lamp
that gives light
wherever I walk.
—Anonymous (Psalm 119:105, CEV)

Once in while in life, I feel discouraged. And it’s my dreams and hopes that hold me up. And here they are. And I hope you will write you own as well.
June 6th 2013, San Francisco
I want to go to London and make art and friends and travel all over Europe.
I want to make art that makes people laugh and cry and know God a little bit better.
I want to fall in love.
I want to dance in the rain with my husband.
I want to write poetry and read them to someone who gets it.
I want to take my children and show them the world.
I want to grow older and wiser and more beautiful every year.
I want to be courageous, and never live in fear, and inspire others to do the same.
I want to trust Him always.
I want God to change someone else’s life through me.
I want to be available for His purpose.
I want to be with friends and appreciate the small moments.
I want to be colorful.
I want to live a simple life.
I want to go to church with both my parents and worship God with them.
I want to forgive and forget.
I want to be present in the now.
I want to meet you.
I want to tell you you are loved.
Not Today is a Christian movie about human trafficking in Indian.
I saw this movie at Missions Fest 2012 in Vancouver, Canada.
This movie really touched my heart because I sponsor a little girl from the Christian Children’s Foundation. And I know there are so many other little girls in India who are sold into child prostitution, slavery, etc. Many are also married off before turning 12. Many girls also don’t even get born due the high rate of abortion for female babies.
The story is touching and compelling. The main lead actor does a great job in conveying the character’s complicated emotions as he grows from a rich party boy to a Christian who makes a difference.
Watch for beautiful graphics. The use of text and image is unique in this film. It’s a must see just for the graphics. I loved the part when the stars turn into text. Also, another brilliant part of this movie is the setting. Since a lot of the movie is filmed in India, expect to see the scenes of India (both city and rural).
Most importantly, the movie draws attention to God. God is our provider and comforter. He is the only one who can change the situation in India. We must continue to pray for those in India. If you feel like God is calling you to help today, you can give a donation to help me support my Indian child. Or you can also sponsor a child yourself.
Thank you to the producers and crew for filming a fantastic movie about God’s love for humanity.
