Who is Jesus? Liar, lunatic or Lord?

Historic Jesus

  • Jesus was a real person.  He is one of the most well-documented person in history. There is more evidence for Jesus’s existence than Napoleon’s. Therefore, if you believe Napoleon existed, then you must believe that Jesus did.
  • Jesus’ life, death and resurrection are all well-documented by various sources, which includes the Roman writings.
  • Jesus was born in Nazareth to Mary and died when He was in His thirties by crucification. He was never married and fathered no children.

Biblical Jesus

  • Jesus is God.  He is the Son in the Trinity, which includes the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
  • Jesus died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins so “that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life” – John 3:16
  • Liar? If Jesus is a liar, that means he knows he is not God but claims to be.  He must be the best liar in the entire human history.  He would have to convince a lot of people to lie for him about his miracles.
  • Lunatic? If Jesus is a lunatic, that means he falsely believed that he was God.  Then how did he fulfill all of the hundreds of prophecies in the Old Testament?
  • Lord? If Jesus is not a liar or a lunatic, then the only logical explanation is that He is who He claims to be, which is the Son of God.

Jesus Today

  • There are 7 reasons why Jesus’ Death influence your life today.
  • After Jesus resurrected, he sent the Holy Spirit to be with the humans and went back to Heaven to sit at the right hand of God the Father. – Mark 16:19
  • Before he ascended, He instructed us to “go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation”.  – Mark 16:15

Jesus Tomorrow

  • Christians believe that Jesus will come back to Earth again, not as man, but as God.  Matthew 24 is a good chapter to read regarding the second coming of Christ.
