Never be Busy Again by Installing Godly Priorities

Do you image never being busy again?!

Godly priorities will help us achieve balance, peace and success in our lives.

Installing Godly priorities is so SIMPLE.  Follow the steps outlined in this post.

Before you start, understand this:  The reason we are living is to glorify God.  The reason we are setting Godly priorities is to grow closer with God and become more like Jesus Christ.

Below are my top 4 priorities.  I believe the first 3 should be same for everybody.  You can make your own priority list by copying the first 3 and adding only 1 or 2 more priorities. Then you can put this somewhere visible to remind yourself.

My Godly Priorities:

  1. God
  2. Health
  3. Relationships
  4. School/Work

God – When the disciples asked Jesus what the most important commandment is, “Jesus answered, ‘The most important is, ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.  And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ ” – Mark 12:29-30

Without God, I have nothing in my life.  For me, putting God first means going to church, church-related activities, reading the Bible, and praying.  It also means if anything else in my life goes against God’s word, I should stop it.

Health – “The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” –  Mark 12:31

Before you can love others, you need to love yourself.  So first you must take care of your physical health, emotional health and spiritual health.  This means eating healthy, exercising regularly, sleeping right, and being emotionally stable and available.

Relationships – In the order of spouse, children, parents, brother and sisters (and in Christ), friends and other relatives, acquittances.

School/Work – Don’t over work. Be careful and don’t let this one rule your life.

Why money isn’t one of the top priorities?

“No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.” – Matthew 6:12

God will provide all the finances you need.  “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” – Matthew 6:33
